Shipping Policy

How items get from seller to buyer on Fig Plug, and what happens when something goes wrong. It applies to purchases, auctions and trades. The Terms and Conditions cover everything else.
Where we ship
Fig Plug currently ships to addresses in the United States only.
When sellers must ship
Sellers must ship within 3 business days. The clock starts when payment clears: after checkout, when an auction closes, or when a trade is accepted.
Business days are Monday to Friday, not counting US federal holidays.
Labels and tracking
Labels are bought through Fig Plug, using USPS. The tracking number is added to the order and posted to the buyer in Messages automatically.
Tracking updates by itself. Fig Plug checks USPS regularly and shows where the parcel is on the order, and both sides are told when it's delivered. The return window in the Return Policy runs from that delivery date.
If a seller ships another way, they must add a tracking number within the 3-business-day window. Every order must have tracking.
Who pays for shipping
- Free shipping: the seller pays. Postage is charged to the seller's saved card when they create the label.
- Calculated shipping: the buyer pays what USPS actually charges to send that package from the seller's ZIP code to theirs, worked out at checkout. Nobody guesses, and nobody overpays.
- Flat rate: the buyer pays the shipping amount shown on the listing. If the real postage comes to more, the seller covers the difference.
- Trades: each member pays the postage for the parcel they send.
Packing
- Protect figures so nothing moves around in transit. Bag small parts, and use a rigid box or a padded mailer. Never ship loose figures in a plain envelope.
- Pack sealed and boxed items so the packaging isn't crushed or creased. Use a box inside a box for anything worth more than $100.
- Enter the real weight and package size on the listing. They set the postage on the label, and underpaid postage is the seller's responsibility.
- Consider adding extra insurance for items worth more than $100.
Delivery times
Delivery times shown are USPS estimates, not guarantees. Fig Plug isn't responsible for carrier delays, but we'll help if a package is lost.
If a seller doesn't ship
If an order has no tracking 5 business days after payment, the buyer can ask for it to be cancelled and will get a full refund.
Shipping late again and again can cost a seller their verification or their account.
Lost packages
If tracking hasn't updated for 7 business days, or the package hasn't arrived 15 business days after it shipped, the buyer should message the seller. If it can't be found, the buyer gets a full refund. The seller can file a claim with USPS for any insurance on the label.
Marked delivered but not received
Check with neighbors and your building's mailroom, and give it 2 days, because packages are sometimes marked delivered early. If it still hasn't turned up, message the seller and then contact us. We'll review the tracking and the order.
Damaged items and returns
Items that arrive damaged or not as described, and anything to do with sending an item back, are covered in the Return Policy.
Addresses
Buyers are responsible for giving a correct shipping address. Sellers must ship to the address on the order, even if they're asked in Messages to send it somewhere else. Redirected shipments are a common fraud pattern, and a package sent to a different address isn't covered.
Addresses are checked against USPS at checkout and corrected to the standard USPS format. If USPS doesn't recognise an address, or it needs an apartment number, the order can't be placed until it's fixed.
